Chris Mundey

Chris has got an eye for value – where it’s being squeezed in an organisation and where it can be unleashed. His 20 years of experience span private equity, corporate transformation and corporate advisory – and for four years he’s been the force behind Friday Capital as founder and Managing Director.

“I’m fully committed to the mid-market segment. I did my time in the Big 4, but what I really stand for is delivering high-quality personal service where I have the opportunity to work alongside every client in developing the bespoke pathway to their objective and then executing it. My career is based on delivering long-term objective advice and closure; involving the best practitioners in each field so clients never have to juggle multiple advisors.”

Chris’ goal is to raise the standards in a sector in which he too often encounters cavalier service providers. “Our aim is to raise the bar for corporate finance advice by lifting our clients’ expectations and understanding. I work together with them as partners to get the outcome they are looking for, and to capture business opportunities to take them to the next level. Let’s face it, their cycle is also mine. Like all my clients, I know good work delivers new work, as our business is built on reputation, capability and outcomes.”

Prior to launching Friday Capital, Chris was the Head of Consulting and Capital Management at an East Coast Boutique Advisory firm and was the lead partner in its Sydney office. This played to his passion for helping mid-market businesses transform and realise their potential and value. Over his career, Chris has worked on transactions varying in size from $10m to over $1bn.

Private equity was his earlier focus, experience which feeds well into today’s demand for data driven decision making anchored in sustainable value creation. As Investment Director at private equity fund Helmsman Capital, he worked in the investment team as well as executing a number of executive leadership and Board roles.

Chris has also held roles as General Manager Strategy at Forcecorp, Manager of Group Strategy at Commonwealth Bank of Australia and Manager of Corporate Recovery at McGrathNicol. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance, an executive MBA, is a Chartered Accountant and is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
